What it is for
Stainless has largely replaced chrome in this category because it looks the same and lasts longer. It does not flake at the base the way plated posts eventually do and a wipe with a cloth brings it back after a busy day. Polished gives you a mirror finish that suits marble and glass; satin is quieter and hides fingerprints better which matters in a branch where staff move the posts several times a shift.
