Privacy policy

Information you give us

The site has two forms, and they are the only way it learns anything about you. In both of them an email address is the one field you must fill in.

The order form can carry:

• your name, company and phone number;
• the products you picked and how many of each;
• whether you are buying or renting;
• for a purchase, the address it ships to;
• for a rental, the start and end dates, the event address and whether you want the equipment set up;
• anything you type into the comments box.

The question form at the foot of each page carries a name, an email address, a phone number and your message.

There are no accounts on this site and no payments are taken here. We never ask for card details through a form; invoices are issued separately once an order is agreed.

The order list kept in your browser

While you add products with the Buy and Rent buttons, the list is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it survives moving between pages. It stays on your device and reaches us only when you send the order. It is wiped after a successful send, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it at any point.

Cookies and tracking

The site sets no cookies of its own. It loads no analytics package, no advertising pixel and no chat widget, and its fonts are served from this domain rather than fetched from a third party.

Should any of that change, this page will name the tool before it goes live and the date at the top will move.

What we use it for

To prepare a quote, to supply the order you accept and to answer the question you asked — and to reach you about any of those. Nothing else.

Your details are not sold, rented or swapped with anybody, and sending us a form does not sign you up for newsletters or promotions.

Consent

By sending a form you agree to us using its contents for the purposes above. You can withdraw that agreement whenever you like by emailing us. If you do so part-way through an order, we may be unable to complete it, and records of an order already supplied may need to be kept for the reasons given under retention.

Service providers

Two companies process your information on our behalf and only to do their job for us: Netlify, which hosts the website and receives the form submissions, and Resend, which delivers those submissions to our inbox by email. Both may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.

Beyond them, we pass on details only where an order needs it — for example, a venue that wants the delivery contact before letting a van onto its dock — or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for. An enquiry that did not turn into an order is deleted once it is plainly finished with. Records of orders that were supplied are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and then removed.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or to have it deleted. Email us and say which of these you want. There is no charge, and we answer inside the period that Canadian privacy law sets.

We will first check that the request comes from the person the information belongs to. If we cannot fully comply — usually because an order record has to be retained by law — we delete what we can and explain what remains and why.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Every page, and every form submission, travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The inbox that receives submissions is limited to the people who quote and handle orders. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim ours is.

Children

The site is meant for businesses and adults organising events, and it is not aimed at anyone under the age of majority. If a child has sent us their details, ask us and they will be erased.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when the site or the way we work changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
