What North York hires

The lobby keeps working while the event happens in it.

An office tower does not close for a product launch, a leasing reception or a charity breakfast in its atrium. Tenants still come through the revolving doors, still need the turnstiles and still expect a clear walk to the elevators, while event guests arrive through the same doors looking for a registration table. The line has to divide one lobby into two routes that never cross, and do it neatly enough that the property manager is glad to see it there.

Two routes from one door

Belt posts that peel event guests off to one side as they enter, leaving the path to the security desk and the turnstiles untouched.

Finishes that suit a lobby

Chrome posts against stone and glass, or black posts with gold finials and velvet rope where the event should feel like a reception.

A sign at the fork

A sign holder where the two routes part, so a tenant never lands in the registration line and a guest never lands at the turnstiles.

Where we deliver

Along Yonge from York Mills to Finch, and west to Downsview.

Towers here take deliveries through a shared dock with a booking sheet and a freight elevator, and the property manager usually wants the lobby clear again once the event is over. Delivery, setup and collection are each quoted as a separate line; in a tower it is common to take all three, because the dock booking, the freight elevator and the building rules are easier to follow when one crew handles the whole visit.

Deliveries go to the lobbies and floors a North York event is held in:

  • the office towers along Yonge Street between the subway stations
  • the corporate campuses and ground-floor atriums in Don Mills
  • the performing arts centre and its foyers
  • the hotel conference floors by the highway interchanges
  • the business parks and former airfield lands at Downsview
  • the civic centre and the square in front of it

Send the building's delivery rules with the brief, and the drop is planned around the dock and the freight elevator rather than the front door.

Worth asking

What a North York lobby event asks.

What's the price of a stanchion rental in North York?
Rates follow the length of the hire and match across both sets — gold post with velvet rope, or black post with retractable belt: $19 per day, $29 for a three-day hire, $39 for a week. A lobby event is usually a single-day hire. Moving the equipment through the dock, laying out the two routes and clearing the lobby afterwards are priced one by one, apart from the rate.
How do we keep tenants and guests from mixing?
Split them at the door rather than halfway across the lobby. A run of belt posts turns event guests aside as they come in, the tenant path to the turnstiles stays open and straight, and a sign holder marks the fork. Send a plan of the ground floor showing the doors, the security desk and the elevators, and both routes are drawn from it.
Can the equipment come in through the loading dock?
Yes, and in most towers it has to. Tell us how the dock is booked, the size of the freight elevator and whether the building asks for a certificate of insurance from anyone delivering, and the drop is arranged to match.
Which finish looks right in a marble lobby?
Chrome posts sit naturally against stone, glass and steel, and a black belt keeps the line quiet. For a reception or an evening launch, black posts with gold finials and a velvet rope in black or navy make the lobby read as an event rather than a queue.
Can the belts carry the event branding?
Belts can be printed along their length, and sign holders take panels with the event name or the directions. Printed pieces are made to order, so the artwork travels with the brief.
