What it is for
Standard stanchion bases are round and 14 inches across which means a stack of them is a stack of nothing but air. The flat base on this model overlaps so the posts sit inside one another and a set that used to fill a corner of the storeroom takes a fraction of the space. For rental companies that is a truck load calculation as much as a storage one; more posts fit in the same van. Three belt hooks give you the layout flexibility of a 4-way cassette and the shorter 34.5 inch height reads well in restaurants and banquet rooms where a full height post feels heavy.
